NTP (Network Time Protocol)

Most Elproma products support NTP. It is a specially designed protocol enabling exact time synchronization of all servers, workstations and routers working in the TCP/IP network. NTP creates and transfers access statistics to the selected UTC time source. The statistics include the information on the clock jitter, existing delays and time differences calculated against the UTC time source. With the delay figure within the TCP/IP network and such statistics, every NTP clients may individually calibrate their local times. The calibration consists in accelerating or slowing down the local clock and it aims at eliminating the dangerous phenomenon of the jump time shift in the system.

Technology

ELPROMA uses atomic clocks time templates in its products. The time information is radio transmitted via the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite signal or the DCF77 signal broadcast from Frankfurt via long waves. Elproma equipment may also be equipped with rubidium or cesium atomic resonators. The NTP time servers are additionally equipped with a special time discipline synchronization technology called Phased Locked Loop and Frequency Locked Loop (PLL/FLL).
